Reckoner Update August 2024

This month there was a lot of in-the-background changes to address responsiveness. Additionally, work has started on v2.0.0 which will be the first time I change the database schema so I am taking extra time with this release!

🚢 Releases

There was only one release and it was today! The release is to address issue #8. I wasn’t able to personally reproduce it, but I drastically improved the mobile usability of database exports.

⏳️ In Progress Release

Version 2 is STILL in progress! I am nearly complete, I just need to find time to test things like arm Linux builds and start the process to submit iOS and MacOS builds to Apple. That is a very tedious process. Interestingly the changes to Google’s Play Store (20 tester requirement) actually make it harder to release apps through that market than it is to release on the App Store.

🧑‍💻 Workplace Changes

I have a new job now! It’s been quite the change and I have had some difficulty adjusting. In particular, the job is mostly in-person and I need to spend more time adjusting to the different environment. As a result I don’t have as much time as I did in the past to make changes to Reckoner. I will continue to develop for Reckoner, but need to be more judicious about my time an energy to have the greatest impact.
